Software Developer

You will be expected to work on our products, both released and incubation.

We believe that talented developers can switch technologies relatively easily, and so we focus on a record of successful delivery more than check boxes on a form. We expect that you would be willing and capable of mastering any technology or development methodology needed. That said, as things stand, right now we make use of C#, JavaScript, SQL Server, ASP.NET MVC 2, XHTML. A working knowledge of the underlying HTTP protocol will be a plus, as will experience in imaging, compression, search, and high performance databases.

Requirements

• Way above average coding ability
• A proven track record of delivery
• Excellent command of English, both written and spoken. Other languages a plus.
• This position is in Sandton, Johannesburg. No telecommuting.

Interviews

Prior to any interviews, you will be expected to provide several recent references, including line managers and customers. We will follow all of them up in depth, as well as perform background and credit checks. We believe firmly in hiring only the right people, and we spend a great deal of effort in investigations before hiring anyone.

Interviews will be conducted telephonically at first, and then later you may be invited to come and meet us. If you're invited back for a second interview you will be expected to perform an extremely difficult series of tests under high pressure and you will be expected to excel.
